New this year are the choices for the Major Focus for your presentation and the rubric & categories the program committee will use to evaluate your proposal.

  • The Major Focus choices will be from the California World Languages Standards. 
    • Communication Standards 1-7
      • 1: Interpretive Communication
      • 2: Interpersonal Communication
      • 3: Presentational Communication
      • 4: Settings for Communication
      • 5: Receptive Structures in Service of Communication
      • 6: Productive Structures in Service of Communication
      • 7: Language Comparisons in Service of Communication
    • Cultures Standards 1-4
      • 1: Culturally Appropriate Interaction
      • 2: Cultural Products, Practices, and Perspectives
      • 3: Cultural Comparisons
      • 4: Intercultural Influences
    • Connections Standards 1-2
      • 1: Connections to Other Disciplines
      • 2: Diverse Perspectives and Distinctive Viewpoints
  • The Rubric is still a work in progress and will be available soon. The Categories are: 
    • General
    • Early Elementary
    • Higher Education

    • Technology

All proposals must be submitted online. Once you are accepted, you MUST register for the conference using the special registration form (link provided in the acceptance email) for Presenters/Co-presenters. Do NOT use the regular registration form. Email Bethany Thompson (program@clta.net) or Evelyn Bejarano (registrar@clta.net) to get the link if you misplace the acceptance email.

Acceptance notification: 

  • November 15, 2021 

CLTA gives the presenters of a three-hour workshop a $100.00 honorarium, one free registration without meals and up to $1.00 per workshop attendee for copying handouts.  All workshops take place on Thursday and Friday before the conference begins on Saturday, March 13.  For each interest session, CLTA offers one free registration without meals as well as $30.00 to offset the cost of copying handouts. We encourage all presenters to make all handouts available online for participants to access.
