The Memorial Travel Scholarship

The Memorial Travel Scholarship honors all our departed colleagues who have had a tremendous impact on our lives, our profession, and the students we touch daily.

CLTA established this scholarship to honor Mary DuFort, who served as coordinator of language education in Alameda County.

The purpose of the scholarship is to provide financial support to enable one or more members to travel abroad to improve their competency and skills in language teaching and culture.

Applicants decide on their own study plans, school/program, destination and make their own travel arrangements.

Scholarships consist of grants up to $1,000.00 to defray the cost of tuition. Applicants are also encouraged to apply for the LangAbroD grant to defray transportation costs. The LangAbroD grant has a separate application, so please click here for more LangAbroD info.

The Memorial Travel Scholarship is funded through the generous contributions of CLTA members.
